Hi people

Steve from wirral here .

I work for myself as a plumbing/heating engineer so good with water and pipes, think that's why the hobby appeals to me lol.

After a ten year rest from tanks I decided to set up my rio 400 again,
Thought I would tweak it a bit dumped the internal filter replaced with a eheim 600 and a 350e for extra flow. Also decided to remove the top trim for that clean frameless look.
Had a dry run quick fill with water the front only bowed by 10mm
Don't tell the wife lol....
Just in the process of sorting out the hard scape. No co2 to buy as I was using it 15 years ago so no problems on that front

Cheers Steve

Welcome to UKAPS Steve. l hope you realise we are the ones asking the questions, how to make water changes easier etc?🙂

Hi and welcome...10mm:nailbiting:, I think there'll be more than a few people here with a similar tank that'll interested to see how you get on.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replys,
Paraguay,
Regarding the water changes there are loads of options.
I use hma filter fitted under the sink with a 3m length of 10mm plastic pipe fitted with a lever isoilater valve. When not in use I coil it up out of the way.
Or you could go old school hi tech with a ball valve fitted so the water turns off when the level is reached.

Troi I'm not sure if you have ever tried to break a sheet of glass but it tends to bend loads before it gives up.
Fingers crossed lol...it's usually the shock loaded up in one small point that causes the failure.
