Have had 6 Amanos in the tank for about a month now. 2 things have happened that I know are natural but am wondering what they mean regarding the wellbeing of the shrimp.

They have all shed and some are getting HUGE

And yesterday I spied this (sorry re the pic - was dark and the damn thing would not move out of the shade....even for an algae wafer :hungry:

Eggs galore! And I spotted another one fit to bursting this morning. I understand bringing them on to adult is very hard, requiring salt water etc etc so I have no intention of trying that.

Are these good signs that all is well in shrimp land?

Yes James,i have around 40 in my tank and some are massive(had them about 2 years)and quiet frequently visible greyish eggs/lavare under the back legs.As you stated it is a very tricky process to breed them(nice read in the inverts section of someone who has been succesfull!).So i would say normal behaviour.Cheers Mark

Thanks Mark. I'll assume then that they are happy - until they tell me otherwise 🙂
