greyish mist in aquarium

As title says, since doing water change with rain water I have a problem with slightly cloudy water in the tank. I have since done a WC with tap water to the same volume and cleaned/increased flow of the external but just can't seem to get the water clear. I'm abit annoyed with myself for not sticking with tap water as the tank was crystal clear beforehand. Any advice would be much appreciated.

After a few Google searches i'm now pretty sure its a bacterial bloom which would be the dam rain water. Am I right in thinking that this should clear over a short time with small water changes ?
