Hello, I was just wondering is this a honey gourami? And also would you say male or female going on fins/ colour etc?

I had a gold gourami in with it but got told that once the gold matures he would get very aggressive and to take him back to the aquatics shop which I have done, but before I get another "honey" I just wanted to make sure I didn't get another male of the one I have got already is, thank you 👍

I’d say a female honey gourami, think the variant is sold as sunset or something along those lines. These are harder to tell apart than the natural form as both male and female are yellow.

Cheers

That's great thank you for the reply, would you say she'd be okay with another female honey? Or would you leave her on her own? Theres plenty of other tropicals in the 190l tank she's in, just want what's best to keep her happy

They do quite well in small groups. I wouldn’t go for just a pair, can cause issues if the fish do decide to pick on each other as the aggression is not distributed like it would be if there was a group.

Great, thank you, much appreciated, I'll go for a group of females (heard males can be territorial?) Hopefully my local has honeys in!
