Good idea or asking for trouble?

Is this positioning risky? There's a bubble buildup on the bottom of the sponge but there is less bubbles around the tank so I think better absorbshion (sp?) overall.

No mate that's fine, it's hard enough to dissolve co2 at the best of times so that will just prolong the contact time with the water in much the same way as a reactor. You may find that you use less co2 getting to where you want to be. Just keep an eye on the drop check and critters and adjust accordingly.

What is your drop checker telling you? Are you getting a nice green colour, if so and you prefer it, it won't hurt anything.

Not monitored drop checker yet, just move it here when I posted.

I was injecting at 1 bps but most ended up on the surface. Have reduced the count to .5 bps and will adjust from there going forward.

Got a decent pH checker coming this week so will be able to dial in perfectly hopefully.
