Golden Ratio use

I have read about the Golden ratio, and tried to replicate it on my first aquascape.

I am using the manzanita branches to setup the lines at 3/5 of the lenght, so each section is further divided in 3/5.

Also each section has it's own plants, with a triangle going from left to right, with the tallest plants on the left, and the smallest ones on the right.

What do you think? Does I have this correct?

Luis, chuck the Golden Ratio out of the window, and go with what you think. The same goes for photography too. 😀

I have tried thinking along these lines, but they are just restrictive.

If you try to apply it to Amano's layouts, chances are they would be close but rarely spot on. You don't need that level of accuracy. It's much better to just use your eye and imagination, or as Dave says you'll create a whole set of restrictions.

I was thinking about using the Golden Ratio as a guidance, and working with it to maintain the tank growth and where to put plants..
