Hi

I have tested my water using a JBI GH Test

I get a result of 9

So I see a lot of references to dH
Is the result of the test measured in dH so my result would be 9dH ?

Thanks

John B

These are German abbreviation and thats what °dH stands for "Grad Deutsche Härte" or "Degree German Hardness".

gH is "General Härte" - "General Hardness" which reflects the Calcium and Magnesium hardness for us..
kH is "Karbonat Härte" - "Carbonate Hardness"..

So we have General Hardness and Carbonate Hardness both expressed in dH (Deutsche Härte)..

So indeed you are almost correct, your gH is 9°dH or 9° gH or just "gH 9" everybody knows what you are refering to..

If you only say dH we do not know if you are refering to kH or gH.. 🙂

Also Also Also... Don't worry there are no silly questions, only stupid answers, sometimes.. 😉
