Good day all,

I was wondering if someone could help me or point me in the right direction. I woke up today to what seems to be fungus growing all over my driftwood. I had this happen to me last week as well. Last week, when it happened, I decided to take both pieces of driftwood out and boil them for about an hour and a half. I was not expecting to deal with this again but here we are. te

My tank is approximately ten days old and the current parameters are as follows:
  • Temp: 69F
  • pH: 6.6
  • Ammonia: 4.0 ppm
  • Nitrite: 0.25 ppm
  • Nitrate: 40 ppm

Hi. It's normal in new tanks and will go by itself. Bristlenose also love to snack on it.
Indeed, normal for wood to have white fungus/bacteria growth....clean off with an old toothbrush and do a huge water change every few days!

Same with my bogwood covered in brown fungus... Strangely this is wood I have had in previous set have gone moldy and the new wood has no fungus at all.
