Hi guys and gals, I'm about to pull the trigger on 3 x bags of fluval stratum 8 kg. I was wondering how you add the element of depth by doing shallow substrate at the front and deeper substrate at the back. Everytime I've done this with my Molar Clay (Kitty Litter) it's ended up leveling out after a month or so.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

So you used rocks to create the height. I thought I saw someone use plastic inserts somewhere. Might have been a GreenMachine Video back in the day

Ive seen some videos showing cheap tights filled with substrate used in areas where you want to create a banking. Not sure how well that method works over time.

I'm sure the plastic cutout method would fail over time and would reveal itself on the surface.
