Does anyone know if the impeller shaft for 405 has a rubber gromit on both ends? I know there is one which fits inside the hole in the housing.
Should there be one on the end that goes against the impeller cover? I'm trying to eliminate some noise from mine - have put in new impeller, shaft and cover (my cover broke so needed anyway) as well as o ring seal.
I used silicone grease on shaft, outside of metal impeller and the cannister o ring. I also wrapped ptfe tape around the impeller cover edge and inside o ring groove 3 times for good measure to ensure good seal.
There don't appear to be any leaks. Shaking the cannister released fine mist of bubbles though.
