Anyone used it or seen it in the flesh? From the pics it kinda looks a bit like flame moss.

They also have one called Fissidens Nobilis and Blepharostoma trichophyllum (mini Rose moss) - they all look pretty cool. Are these just different names of moss' that are already available or is it because Fissidens is from the US?

Then there are these on ebay as well:

+ there are others.

The Singapore looks amazing. I'm very tempted. I love my Fissidens Fontanus, but am wondering how different all these things are, especially as I've just ordered some flame moss from laimyzaz.

answers on a postcard please...

If you already have fontanus I would not bother with geppii. I've got Fissidens Geppii from two different sources (US and European) and it looks almost identical to fissidens fontanus. Just slightly smaller frond sizes, which *could* be due to growth conditions anyway.

It is personal preference, but there is an XXL fissidens that is quite cool (I had it a while back), looks just like fontanus, but a lot bigger. So if I was getting another fissidens I would try and source that. Singapore I'd like to see too. Zip never did it for me (too delicate too grow long term low tech for my liking).

Mini rose moss is nice too. Smaller and more deilcate fronds than the more common 'pearl' mosses you see.

Thanks Matt, so where do you get the XXL Fissidens?

I think it will cost way to much to order the Rose moss from the US, as they insist on you buying extra packaging, but I think I'll take a punt on the Singapore and compare with the Flame Moss when that arrives.

I am with Co2 so may also go for some zip am finding the moss' far more enjoyable than HC and a like - I just cant get HC to grow well for me anywhere else but emersed, although I'm sure its my lighting - anyway a slight tweak to my current rescape is afoot so I think I'm going to go moss crazy.

Amazing thanks will surely save him as a seller - annoying that it didnt come up on my moss search on ebay but hey ho...

thanks again - back to work now!
