My bettas used to watch me as I walked around the room. I would often move them to other aquariums nearby so that they had the feeling that they were exploring the house and had a wider habitat range. An aquarium is just a submarine for fish.

But walking fish is novel to me. I don’t think fish enjoy the motion, nor can they appreciate the vision. I think fish are near sighted, and cant see image beyond a foot or less.
If I were a fish in Asia, I would not be relaxed being taken out of my tank and being on display. For most fish this is really bad news.
I once met a European veterinarian surgeon, she had just arrived in HK and had started in one of the clinics. She said she was still in shock seeing how fish are treated in the wet markets. Sometimes these are good reminders for those who live here permanently and got used to seeing it.
