Hi All,

Just removed some water from my tank for a water change, before i readded water back in my fish were at the top looking for air.

I also added in a new diffuser, i dont think this would have caused the problem?

Anyway i readded the 10ltrs back into the tank with the correct dose of tap safe and there still at the top.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It must be my Co2 then, i dont have a drop checker right now, or anything to test the co2 levels with :( only got the setup a few days ago. What should i do?

have you got an airstone?

it should gas off quite quickly tbh. also you could get some surface agitation going to help remove it quicker.

Actually thinking about it I'd change the water if it were me to be on the safe side!

Ok i did a few 10 ltr changes and they seem to be ok now. I'm going to have to get a drop checker tommorow does anyone know if pets at home sell them? closest shop too me that.

I've never seen them in my local P@H to be honest. I think its a bit too specialist for them!

have you read the thread about testing CO2 without a drop checker? click new posts and it should be quite high up.

you might be easier getting a PH testing kit and do it that way.

I got glass checkers off ebay and some 4dkh premixed with blue from aqua essentials, both delivered quickly.
Why not order online then wait a few days to get them before turning the CO2 back on?

Highly unlikely. Best off trying eBay or one of the forum sponsors. You will also need to get or make some 4DKH water to ensure the drop checker is accurate, and a pH test solution unless it comes with the checker. If you use tap water you will get an inaccurate reading. Ones like the plastic JBL one tend to have the pH tester with it, whereas glass ones tend to be separate.

Yeh i think i will Chris, can you recommend any? im new to this so bare with me. Also. do you know where i can get suction pads for a ada type diffuser?

No it said it came with pH reagent bottle and clear suction cup, whats the difference between that and the one supplied?
