Evening everyone, just thought id pop on a post of the 2 hardscape layout I have quickly put together tonight, not decided on stone type yet etc so at the minute it's just the wood.

First trial I liked but felt it wasn't impactable enough and second im more happy with but feel it needs finer details?

Excuse the dirty and finger printed glass 🤣 been applying my foggy ada background

Thanks all
Matt 😃

The second layout is striking, but the straight bit of wood on the right hand side clashes with the left in my view, have you tried angling that piece the same as the first layout?

This is another layout trying to adjust the right side wood to a what I feel is a better angle after taking your advice :)

Still deciding on what stone to go for and whether or not to have a sand foreground to bring in my river edge idea with stems in back and fair few ferns on wood etc

Thanks
Matt 😃

Are you going to bank it up towards the back? The wood would really help support it id think

Hi aqua360
Thanks for commenting again, yes going to bank the back up a fair bit was thinking few bigger stones staggered and some smaller detail stones , but yes going to have back banked up with soil and then little soil if not sand in the foreground, just can't decide on what stone yet and im.between either amazonia soil or the amazonia v2 (which I have in my aquascaper) soil wise.
Also thinking to run a biomaster thermo 600 as appose to the 350 with have large hardscape

Many thanks
Matt

Hi all, completely had a rethink on this hardscape didn't like it 😕
Felt there was just to much hardscape and Just not what I wanted in my head ,

This is layout number 4, will attach a photo now, wanting sand foreground and crushed stone leading back to the milenium stone and the soil will bank right up at back left and slowly slope towards left hand side (i think, in my head anyway 😀)

Let me know what you all think

Thanks
Matt 😃

I like that version most. Some smaller bits of wood (to look like small roots) over the rock would give tree some more detail.

A separate idea; the piece of wood on the left in your second picture could look good angled diagonally, so you can see into the hollow. (Like a fallen tree on the forest floor) - wouldn’t suit the sandy idea as much, if your set on that.

I still think the one in post4 is good. See your issue though it crowds the aquarium. Could you not try less wood creating a gap pathway. Post 7 not bad wood looks a little too straight .Try it more angled maybe. Just my own thinking

Got some of the little bits placed just some more finer details to add, also got some pieces of millenium stone to smash up and add some ada gravel to the foreground. One step closer !!

I did worry it was to symmetrical but after seeing it for a few hours I like it I feel the twists and turns draw you in (just my feeling)

By no means anything but an amateur this is only my second scape and second proper attempt at an awuascape

Thanks all
Matt 😃

The best yet for me. What are the dimensions of your aquarium?
Cheers!

Thankyou bazz I'm queit pleased with it, think I'm going to stick with this one just need a few finer details and I'll be 100%happy

And the dimensions are 600mm wide 500mm deep and 450mm high

Sane footprint as my aquascaper 600 just taller, think the aquascaper 360mm but it does seem a lot bigger even though its just taller

Thanks
Matt 😃
