Here my fist venture for 9 years!
I'm starting get together the equipment to start a 130 L tank and will post my progress

AquaOne Aspire 130 and matching stand
AquaOne LED light unit
APS 14000 external filter
Co2 Supermarket soda stream Co2 kit
Tropica Plant Substrate
Tropica Soil
not sure on the hardscape yet rock or wood?
well that's the start so far

I want that tank so I'm interested. Go for some Dragon stone and what fish are you planning on keeping?

I used Tropica substrate but found it really messy. Grew stuff well though

I have read about the soil clouding when disturbed, I'll try to keep away from it when I have my hands in the tank....

I have some nice rock donated to me and have finished the scape, going to leave it for a few days before i start planting just incase i want to change anything -- i have gone with Iwagumi style but done my way!
I plan to have one large shoal of either rummy nose tetras or harlequin rasboras maybe 30+ and some shrimp, not sure what algae eating to buy?

Nice one. I too just got the same tank. Setting it up at the moment
I have ditched the internal filter and have gone with a external filter - I'm a bit concerned about the led light unit not begin strong to grow the plants I want, I know it has 42 led's but there's no info on what wattage they are or the colour temp of the led's. Have you gone with the matching stand?

I have been looking at the tank for hours and things just don't feel right - I need some help getting a height and distance perspective !!! any helpers

You're center stone is vertical. I would angle it to the right pointing to the front glass. Similarly, I would add a stone pointing from the left to the right, except it would be on the ground.

My tank is shrimp only so the back filter sue bests and the lights is really for low plants. Easy plants doesn't mean you can't make a nice looking scape. I had the aquanano 22 litre and 55 litre and now i have the 130 litre

Check out my journal https://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/ryans-twin-aquanano-featured-in-pfk-magazine.33329/

after a near disaster with the rock work I have decided to scrap this scape and use wood instead with a view to creating a stump of bogwood and mostly a carpet of grass, and few accent plants on the wood
