Not having much luck.

I’ve already got an ATC-1550 running on my 37L Nano with an under tank heater and it works great so I ordered another for the new tank. Duly ordered it arrived a week later with a damaged case because the mains lead was packed with the metal plug pins against the casing without a plastic cover on it that most suppliers use. Just received the replacement and it’s damaged in the same place for the same reason. I did suggest they leave the mains lead out but they included it anyway. Very frustrating. 🙁

No idea where you got it from but I assume it's the pre-wired version from the model number?
You're entitled to a full refund regardless, maybe some companies impose time limits on reporting problems etc.
Just ask them to send you a fully paid postage label to return the item(s).
I'm guessing it's as they've just rammed the UK 3 pin in instead of the Euro 2 pin plug but mine have always been fine. I always like to keep a spare which was to hand so opened it up and seemed fine to me.

I've found them on Amazon for £19.99, had 3 or 4 from them and never had a problem.

If that doesn't work out for you and still want to go this route with the parts you have then look up DIY builds on the reef forums or if you're handy enough with your electrics and cutting skills you could use the parts and put them into an appropriate sized and water spec case; maybe even disconnecting the cooling socket or rigid wiring the mains supply in, there's lots of options
PROVIDING YOU DO IT IN A SAFE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE MANNER!

I got my dad (electrician) to do mine for my marine long before Elitech released the prewired version - ultimatereef.net has quite a few builds I'm sure dating back some years.

I got it direct from Elitech at £15.99 inc delivery but curiously delivered by Amazon Prime, as was the replacement. As they haven’t responded to emails I do have an outstanding case lodged with PayPal. I’d really like an undamaged unit but I have an STC1000 somewhere I bought years ago that I could fit in a Tupperware box!

Their online shop is still open and they were originally responding to emails. I can’t help wondering if these thermostats are manufactured abroad and packed with unprotected plugs how many of them get damaged in transit before they even get sent to customers. The box is only just big enough and maybe they’ve decided to omit the plug cover to actually get it all in. The first one I bought last year arrived undamaged though.
