Hi, i was just wondering, what happens if you trim the eleocharis species? Would the whole leaf die down making way for new leaves or would it grow straight back?

Also how big should i expect eleocharis s.p mini to grow in a low light low tech setup?

Quick replies would be appreciated as i am putting in a plant order tonight 🙂

Hi Dom,

Trimming the leaves will not result in the leaf dying. The leaves will grow back. The mini should stay short, an actual size can't be given by myself but I'm sure someone more informed than me should be able to answer it.

But I can tell you that either species will take some time to establish and take good root, once it establishes it should take off.

Thank you michael 🙂 It just popped up because i remembered trimming a dying eleocharis vivipara a few years back, and plopping it into my emersed setup, and the leaves all seemed to die off making way for new growth, so i wasnt sure. Thanks though 🙂
