Electric Blue Ram - Gender Help?

I am struggling to identify the gender of the two EBR I picked up a week ago. They definitely aren’t pairs as I was hoping as they tend to occupy different sections of the tank (150litre)

See pictures below, to me they look and behave the same. Can someone please help me identify their gender? Or do they have to be older to be able to tell

They both look like young fish and I wouldn’t confidently predict their sex at present

Even adult ebr's are hard to accurately sex, you can get clues from dorsal fin shape and height of spikes but they aren't accurate with todays inbreeding and is a "best guess".

@Arslan316 is the pictures deceiving me or do they have threadlike things sticking out of their anal area? If so you may want to treat for internal parasites

I will definitely look into it, I don’t remember seeing anything. I did have a lot of thread algae in the tank at that point so not sure if that’s what you are seeing

No I dont think its algae. Camallanus is definitely one to look into 🙂
