Eheim Double Tap alternatives?

Hi guys,
I have an Eheim Classic 250 that I once used on a cube aquarium; I stopped using it as the disconnect valve (if that is what they are called) leaked a fair bit and still didnt fix the issue. I found out that Eheim have a double tap system that would resolve my issue however dont really want to spend £20-£25 on them. Is there a cheaper yet reliable method I could use to stop the water leaking when doing water changes etc?

Aquasabi has the 17mm double taps for £18 if thats any use! Smaller sizes are cheaper.I use these and have done previously for a few years and they never let me down and makes cleaning pipes/lilly pipes so much easier
