easy to grow plants ???

Hi all,
i want some easy to grow plants that grow big and bushy
<"Hygrophila corymbosa">, I was in P@H the other day and they were selling large plants in the "two for £11" plant section.

Amazon Swords (Echinodorus spp.) aren't bushy, but they will fill a big space. <"Echinodorus bleheri"> is a bomb proof one, also for sale at P@H, possibly also in the "two for £11" range.

If you have a look through the <"Tropica Easy"> plant range for mid-ground and back-ground it should give you some more options.

cheers Darrel

Hi,

You do not mention the size of your tank, but my first plants were a mixed collection from James Starr on ebay which contained a good mix of plants for £10 +p&p. He has various mixes so you can chose what you like.

Apart from the grow pot this is what I received, temporarily put in little pots with qravel to hold them down before planting in my 40cm cube.

If you look in P@H they usually have the Topica Heteranthera Zosterifolia 1-2- Grow Pots which you might have missed, though seemingly seedlings they do grow very fast.
Just carefully check the underside of the pot is not too black, indicating its old stock thats starting to rot around the roots.

Hi,

You can find him on this link, but do visit his shop as he offers lots of different bundles, the one I got was his pot luck choice, basically a selection of the excess plants at the end of his weekly shipment.
Should just add, forgot earlier, that that those Crypts at the front of my picture were not included in the £10 bundle.

Another one for Craig that i bought from the lsf is Cardamine Iyrata , really fast grower that creates quiet a canopy.

Just to clarify:
Heteranthera zosterifolia will show some black in the cup allready, when it is hipped out of Tropica (I know , I'm the one packing most of them *s*).This is just a speciality for this specific plant. You should still lift the cup and look at the bottom - but check that you see nice, white roots on this plant, instead.

Hi,

Thats interesting :) , though have to say in my case there was a fair bit of decay , when rinsed and cleaned up I only found about 6 clean looking pieces and planted them, not being sure if they would do anything, but they have put on some really good new bushy growth in less than 2 weeks, now 150mm tall :D
