I was thinking of getting some but wanted to check will they be ok at discus temps? about 86f

That might be a bit warm, they say it should be kept at about 64-82 F (18-28 C) but there is only one way to find out, it wouldn't be the first time we have proved the text books wrong on this forum

You could proberly grow anything if you have good light, substrate and ferts
