Hello,

How should someone fertilise plants grown in an inert substrate using the dry start method?

Thanks

I've heard of people having an EI/ water mix in a spray bottle, and spraying that Onto the plants daily

I might be wrong but I think you'd need to water that down massively for fear of scorching the leaves. Imagine the amount you'd place in the tank if it where full of water and then make a mix that strong in the sprayer

Fertilise the substrate EI or whatever is your personal preference (reduced dose of course) and spray with RO (or boiled water) so as to not leave scale/salts on the leaves/tanks/substrate.

How about if I create an EI mix and add it to thw substrate via syringe?

Probably. But if your tank is 100litres for instance, estimate the substrate at 5litres and thus dose EI at 100/5 = 20th the amount for a full tank.
