Doubling up lighting power ?

Just a question about lighting, I use this lightning on my 60 cm tank http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/a...lant-led-strip-light-24-34in-60-85cm-25w.html and have bought another of the same, I've mounted them side by side as one light just didn't seem to hit everywhere.. I have put the second light on a separate timer to come on for 2 hrs in the middle of the photoperiod, more or less within 15 mins the plants pearl like crazy .. Is this beneficial or am I wasting power?

Trial and error mick I've just trialed upping my lighting. Ended up an error (diatoms etc). Just keep an eye, if diatoms appear your making work for yourself. I've turned my light down again and it's looking better.

Ah right .. I will just trial the 2hr spell then and no more .. Really don't want to mess thing up..
