I am under the impression that dosing fertilizers before the lights are turned on has benefits. Is this correct? And if so, why? And when is the best time to dose? I'm dosing macros on days 1, 3 and 5; micros on days 2, 4 and 6.
If you put them in just before lights on then plants have access to the highest concentration of nutrients however if you run EI then you have excess nutrients all the time anyway so makes little difference. Everything in this hobby is better when you do it as consistently as possible, pick a time thats convenient to your life like before work and stick to it, no need to make things harder.
Ferts can be dosed at any time. Liquid carbon breaks down in the water column, so it is best dosed just before lights on to give the highest concentration. Otherwise the only advantage to a set time is to aid memory.
