Although it can be unsightly I like to think that since algae tends to grow when plants are not doing well it is actually the saviour of the ecosystem. Rather than thinking of it as an opportunistic, scavenging nuisance I think of it as a hero. Although it has probably been evolutionally programmed to compete and survive perhaps we should see the bigger picture. Algae merely takes over to protect the lifeforms within its ecosystem. It lends a hand to the higher plants as it knows they are better equipped to provide oxygen, food, shelter and spawning sites for the critters but, when the going gets tough it steps in to take over the role and will pass the torch when conditions are right for its larger neighbours.

Just my two peneths worth. Feeling philosophical 🙂

Don't be a algae hater.

No we shouldn't hate algae it was here first and we should thank it for providing the oxygen component of our atmosphere. However some are more a nuisance than others.!

Very depressing, literally!

We should seek to reduce those that may do us harm.

We shouldn't hate at all, no matter what it is.. Actualy we even shouldn't use the word, it's the most despicable sickening word ever invented. Unbelievable, just a word, nothing more, causes a certain feeling of powerlessness, misplaced growing out of proportion in the ignorance of it's user(s). Why?? :meh:
Anyway 😉 we should all use http://fish-etc.com/knowledge/spirulina-why-you-should-feed-fish :woot:
