I want to "enhance" the substrate in my tank a bid, and since I ordered some new plant species I figured that would be a good opportunity to change the substrate.
I've looked at the substrates at my LFS but those seem to be >90% sand mixed with a little peat, and in 1 case pumice. Since I only want a thin layer of substrate capped with sand, I just feel there is to much sand in those mixtures.
I have used some diy substrates before, and probably will go down that route again, so I wondered what kind of mixtures you use?
