Hi,

I am a third year university student at Cornwall College, Newquay. I am currently completing my dissertation on the extent on the illegal online market for the 5 invasive species banned on the 6th of April 2014 under the wildlife and countryside act of 1981. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out and compete my survey? It is completely anonymous and is not made to judge peoples choices but instead to get an understanding on how effective the ban has been 🙂

Done as well. The only thing I would suggest is that it might be useful to ask if you have seen any of these plants for sale. For instance I have seen Canadian pondweed, floating pennywort, parrots feather and azolla for sale in the last couple of years. These are commonly available on eBay throughout the summer and I think this is because people don't actually know they are banned or certain sellers rely on the customer not knowing this. I have parrots feather in Mt pond and have done for the last decade but I know to compost it when it over grows.
I also believe we will still see plenty of the plants which were banned last year for the years to come.
