decided to have another go with the big tank

Looking great.
You might want to give the hairgrass a haircut before putting it in and also spreading them out even more.

This will allow the plant to "recover" quickly and spread its runners even faster. Ive seen Ceejays tank and its amazing with lush thick hairgrass carpet.

little update of co2 running what you think does it look like good flow ?

comments appreciated as i would like to know if it seems ok or not ?

the poorly looking otto although he seems fine in every way ?

any ideas what it might be ??

Re: Otto, I think it could be natural my ottos look like that too, may have something to do with the high light and light substrate colours we use. I notice that when the lights go on my Ottos are "normal" looking but after an hour or so they get lighter and have spots like that on both sides of their heads.

well after a couple of months ive decided to tear the tank down as im just too eager for new lay outs lol and got really bored of the fish that were in there

this was how it looked at the end

had really good growth but i just got sick of the trimming and the mess in the substrate all the time

this is what ive come up with

ive removed all the soil and added osmocote topped with aquarium sand

im still using my 2 t5ho 6500k daylight tubes but am considering going down to 1 as ive removed the co2 now also

i managed to snap the bulb from my tiger lotus which i was gutted about but it will grow again lol

im getting some melting on my vallis and amazon swords too which i didnt expect but i did get the same before when first introducing them to my tank with the soil so im hoping they live on :)

any advice weather i should drop to 1 bulb and a lighting period that would best suit with no ferts or co2 would be great
