We have a bristlenose pleco that poo's like a beast, currently I vacuum the substrate to get it all out. I want to add a carpeting plant but I'm not sure if that's going to be a good idea with the resident poo machine, if you have a carpeting plant do you vacuum it? Do you have any trouble with poo building up or does it break down?

If your tank is balanced, the poo will become nutrients for plants, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be a good idea to have some carpet planting, just waft over the carpet to dislodge the most dirt while doing a water chance and suck away should be good enough.
