Cyperus helferi going brown.

I have a newly setup tank ( Read more here )

my Cyperus helferi is browning on the end of the leaf, is this normal when the plant is newly added to a tank or am i adding to much or not enough of something?

Here's some details of what i am adding:
50% daily WC
Ferts daily: ADA Brighty K (2 squirts) ADA Green Brighty Step 1 (1 squirt) and 5ml easy carbo
Co2: about 2 bps (drop checker is yellow, so its high in Co2)
Lighting: 12 hours a day, but now reduced to 7 hours a day.






Note: I know the lights on for 12 hours is to much, but with no solenoid i could not control the Co2 and I work 12 hour shifts, so had to do it this way for the last 3 days, but I got my new regulator today so its now set to 7 hours.

I've had Cyprus do this, partly down to transition as it grew new leaves after a couple of weeks.
If you've just bought it its possible it's in emmersed form currently

I think Alastair is right, the leaves shown in the other thread are definitely the emersed type.

Agree with all of the above...chop em of and you'll soon get new growth.

Yes, as the energy wasted by the old leaves can now be used in the new leaves.
