Cycling questions

Hi all, am going to fill my hardscaped tank tomorrow, I'm using aquasoil also. I have an RO unit which I will use for the tank when it's up and running, would you suggest RO for the cycle or just tap water with dechlorinator? Also aquasoil leeches ammonia so do I need to use any additives when cycling or is the aquasoil enough. Cheers Rich.

You don't need to add additives, plant heavy, and you don't need to worry about cycling the tank. You can even stock very very light depending on how big your tank is and what you plan to stock in it.

Tank is only 2' have downsized from a large reef. As for stocking I haven't decided yet but there will only be a few rarer fish. What do you think of the RO or tap water for cycling?
