Hi,

IMG_20170222_182013573.jpg

can you please advise or confirm the type of cryptocorynes for these two pictures.

Picture 2 should be wendtii and picture 3 should be balansae as per the advise of the seller...however after googling these I note that both have a rhizome instead of the normal roots and I am also asking how should I plant them...like the anubias with rhizome outside substrate or else plant them in the substrate.

Thanks for help.

Hi
These two plants are not of the species Cryptocoryne!
They are infact Anubias....tie to wood or rock is the norm for this species!
Ist picture looks like

Thanks to all...what a mistake from the supplier than..completely different plants...in any case I am keeping them as I like their look.

I have tied them individually to small rocks leaving the rhizome exposed...the roots are in the substrate...is this ok for the roots and shall I place some substrate fertiliser below the roots like tetra crypto tabs maybe...would this be ok or no need.
