Hi,

Some time ago we planted one of the above in our 50 ltr tank, but its grown so well its become a bit too big.

Gather they produce offsets which we could use to replace the mother plant with, but have not seen any yet.

If we cut back the long leaves will it take kindly to that kind of action and regrow new ones ok ? and is it best done a few leaves at a time or can we cut them all back down ?

Probably one of the most beautiful crypts, but quite large for a 50l. I grew it in a 50cm high tank with CO2 and the leaves still trailed along the surface.

If it is healthy you can absolutely cut all its leaves off and it will put up more. After a few months it will also put out runners under the substrate that will pop up here and there around the tank.
