I have one Sterbai left from a group I bought many years ago and its changed colour in the last few days from brown spots etc to blackish and the orange pectoral colour seems to have gone, the body looks a bit pink especially between head and dorsal fin. The fish is between 5 and 7 years old There is also one peppered cory, also a survivor and they ignore each other entirely, that is until the last couple of days when Sterbai is following peppered. The Sterbai is normally a recluse but has also become more visible when the lights are on.
My theories are the Sterbai is either ill, perhaps an infection, or less likely, attempting breeding. There are no aggressive tank mates or illnesses in the tank. Any ideas?
Thanks
Dave
