Coconut shells

Hello everyone
Do you know if its possible to recycle coconut birdfeeder shells for the aquarium? Once cleaned and boiled obviously
Or do you think they might be treated with something that could kill the fish?
Ive got like six in the garden that I could use...

Just make sure there’s no fat left of then
Can’t see why they would treat them with anything it just add to the costs
Plus if it’s harmful to fish surely it’ll be harmful to birds too

Give one a good clean
Boil it
Then try just one

Do you think I would be able to attach Java Moss ono them? I saw that people use fishline. Any other types of string I can use?
