I have a separate circulation pump running alongside a large external filter in my 100ltr tank.

At the moment, I only have the circulation pump running at various times throughout the day (not at night).

Would I be better running the pump 24/7 or just during lighting hours ?

Anyone know the theory behind this ?

I'm no expert, but I run mine 24/7 to cut down on dead spots, eliminating waste collecting at night, as well as just generally dispersing nutrients

As long as you don't blow your fish around, I would suggest to keep it on 24/7, if only for degassing CO2 and for the same reason as Aqua360 mentioned.
