Hi.
I probably can guess the answer but if it saves me some work I'll ask it anyway...
I assembled a DIY CO2 reactor yesterday, but in the process managed to split a plastic backnut on the barbed hose tank connector. I replaced it with a chrome-plated brass backnut from a standard plumbing fitting. It's going to be inside the reactor. Is this likely to leach chemicals into the water and should I look for a replacement plastic backnut or maybe cover it in aquarium silicone or am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks!!
