So I currently I run a Fluval Planted 3.0 on my UNS 90L. While it’s a good light it drives me nuts that there isn’t any green or true red. Also the light feels like it cast a yellow tint.
Lately I been looking at the Chihiros WRGB, love how peoples tanks pop with color. My debate is there are two different versions - a regular and a slim.
Am I safe to assume that a slim is the way to go with a 90L?

It depends on how much light you need. If you can afford the more powerful light, then you should buy it so you have more room to adjust the power. Worst case is that the slim doesn't give you enough light and you have to upgrade.
Whereas if you get the WRGB2, you can always run it at less than 100% which will extend the lifespan of the LEDs anyway.
