Hi UKAPS,

Please can you advice what carpet plants will I be able to have with a 9w bulb(superfish compact) in a 5.5 uk gal aquarium?
I dont have a way of measuring it with PAR hence I need your suggestions and help.
I have pressurised co2 and can do EI dosing regularly but I cannot upgrade the lighting. Im not a fan of mosses but wanted a decent carpet.

Any suggestions are welcome?

Many thanx

It about 15 inches tall. But couldnt grow hairgrass. Tried it twice and failed..

Thanks Iain. I was looking up the requirements for monte carlo and am looking to get it from ebay. But I am confused between Elatine Hydropiper and monte carlo. Some say it's the same but some say they are different species.
Any advice?

As far as I'm aware Micranthemum sp Monte Carlo is easier to grow than Etaine Hydropiper...they are different species.
I think the confusion started when it first became available because it looks and grows very similar to Hydropiper.
I've never tried Etaine Hydropiper but Tom Barr has tried and he states its a pig to grow.
Ask on here for Monte Carlo...in the For Sale section...after you make 25 posts.😉
You may get a surprise:happy:
Cheers
hoggie
