Canister filter emergency, how much pressure?

Had an incident with my filter, the plastic taps have broken and had to hold them in place with copper wire like a champagne cork. Seems okay until I can get spares. Just wondering if much pressure builds up in the canister. Says pressurised filter on it.

Can you put the broken tap on the inlet side?
It should then suck in air and not pump out water if the worst happens.

No sign of any leaks this morning. It's been a worrying night Hopefully my taps will come pretty quick. Got express delivery but I'm guessing Tuesday is still the earliest.
