Can I rescue my plants/wood after cyanobacteria attack?

My 130L suffered an outbreak of cyanobacteria that slimed my plants. After treatment the survivors are mostly java fern that has naturally rooted to some wood pieces.

I plan to redo my tank completely, and would love to know if there is any chance I can reuse these plants/drift wood? Or would I have to start again so as not to risk future cyanobacteria blooming again?

Yes, you can reuse them. By the way, the cyano coming back or not depends on the condition of the tank, regardless of you introducing it or not.

That's good to know.

I have an old internal Fluval 3plus filter in the tank just now, but I plan to switch to a external Eheim classic 600 that I received today.
(Probably overkill for a 130L though 🙂 )
