Is it worth it? Do they arrive in good condition - or is it a gamble?
Is it legal?
Looking at prices it is very very tempting!

I ordered a load of plants from Europe a few weeks ago (bucephalandra) they all arrived in fine condition despite being the post for eight days. The seller should know how long they'll take to be delivered and pack them accordingly 🙂 so yeah, I consider it worth it, I'd do it again.

Hi all

I don't know if it is legal or not, but IME the most important thing is to buy to reliable shops or buyers. At the beginning I was very tempted to buy quite a lot to some shops in Spain (where I live) and to people on second hand websites... But I had one or two bad experiences with bad identification (yes, absolutely wrong identification), poor quality (you can have problems with one plant, but it is strange when all of them melt in a few days) and poor quantity. IMO unless you are a rare plant hunter or if it is not an exchange between known people (I.e. Ukaps members) it is not worth. Tropica 1-2-Grow is my favorite. In Spain we pay between 5 and 7 euros per pot, the quality is superb and the quantity quite impressive.

I think that will happen with reputable dealers even, they get their plants from just a few producers, if they have it wrong everybody get's it wrong. I believe Tropica to be correct in most of their cases, but even they have to rename now and then.
For day to day plants i wil order from dealers in here in the Netherlands, but rarer and not emerged growable plants i rely on enthousisasts.
