Hi all - hope you're well.
My population of bladder snails is declining. Specifically they're climbing above the water line and drying out. My hunch is that's it's a food-issue rather than water quality but I wanted to post here and ask. Originally I did experience a bunch of deaths with an ammonia spike from TNC root tabs, the ammonia level, however, has now subsided.
Tank info
70litre freshwater planted tank
Room temp (no heater)
5ml TNC complete dosed weekly
TNC root tabs planted
Passive co2 system - 150ml chamber filled daily
Fluval 206 canister
Fluval plant 3.0 light - full spectrum @ 15% 8hrs daily
Water quality
pH 6.8
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 10-20ppm
Weekly 60-70% water change, gravel vac and glass clean
Food
Fish are fed a mix of flake and algae pellet
Snails are fed calcium blocks and tend to eat detritus and background algae
