Black borders on Cryptocoryne wendtii ?

Could anyone tell me if the black borders on these leaves are some sort of disease or normal leaf appearance.

Are you sure its wendtii?
Looks like sp spirallis normal growth.......although I maybe wrong its quite difficult to identify crypts due to different growing conditions!

Thanks hoggie, That's what it said on the package. It's a rather small plant leaves about 5-8 cm. I looked up spiralis and it looks much longer and more like a val.

I would say normal, mine does the same.

Thanks aquatoon. I just started looking at some images online and see that as you said, the black (actually deep purple) is normal.

Very normal for some of the Crypt. wendtii 'green' types, to develop coloured parts on leaves. And like allready said - Crypts. tend to look rather different in different environments (especially the wendtii-types).
- your plants look fine, to me !!

I have had them about two months, and they have grown out quite a bit.
