Hi
For a few months I've had the following set up with no algae issues what so ever.
I use the Juwel HeliaLux Spectrum LED on my 240 litre aquarium with the following light settings (in photos)
Mon - Fri - (Juwel Bedroom)
Sat - (Amazonas)
Sun - (Aquascape)
Water temperature is 24-25°c.
The aquarium is low tech with no injected Co2 but plenty of water movement and surface agitation.
I keep various "easy" plants that don't require much demand.
I dose 12 drops each Monday (weekly) of Tropica Specialised Nutrition. I also use API Root tabs.
Recent symptoms have been...
Brown blemishes on various Anubis.
Leaves disappearing from lower stems from the plants to the bottom left.
Black looking algae hairs appearing on Amazon swords in the middle of the aquarium.
Does anyone have any advice how I can tackle the algae and loss of leaves?
Also, would my aquascape be better suited in a much shallower aquarium so the light has less water to travel through?
I was lead to believe basic knowledge was (Too much light = Algae) and (Too little light = loss of lower leaves)
I've included some photos, hope that helps 🙂
