Background colour

I currently have a black background with Troipca aqua soil (also black) but would like some other options for background colour, possibly something lighter in colour.

What colours and options are you all using??

I've got a frosted background and a back light on one of mine and I really like the effect. I'd never have tried it but for seeing @zozo 's .

Ahh frosted sounds like a good idea might look into that got any pics our yours??

I use one of them 3D backgrounds, they look great, the Limestone one i have by Back to Nature is a whiteish colour with some varouis tinges of algea on it once established.

Black background makes CO2 bubbles very visible while a lighter background reduces their visibility. Going all the way and using an LED light panel effectively makes the CO2 bubbles nearly invisible.

I am looking into co2 actually so that would definitely make up my mind about removing the black background.

For the lit background, I will add that some fish may find they feel too exposed; I've just done a quick experiment and my Daisy's ricefish immediately left their "safe spot" when I blacked out most of the lit background... Excuse the "warts and all" photo!

True.

I'll probably go for LED one somwhere soon but it can be expesive.

I'm currently using an RGB lightscreen made by a local company that does ship worldwide though I expect shipping to be costly so better to buy from your LFS . However, I'm pretty happy with it and I think the bluetooth controller is a generic item (based on the app downloaded) and a resourceful person will probably be able to go to Taobao to order a replacement should it ever breakdown (the bluetooth controller is likely the first item to fail).
