I am going ahead with an evolution aqua 90cm x 50cm x 45cm tank and twinstar 900s light.
Could anyone offer advice on the correct filter for this setup. I want really good flow. Going for a planted tank with injected co2. I am going for clear piping and lily pipes and undecided between fluval fx4, hydor 600 and Oase biomaster 600.The fluval is around 2500lph, hydor around 1650lph and Oase only 1250lph.i like the fx4 but not sure if going to be too much flow. If I went for fx4 I would cut the black piping and add connector and clear piping to it with lily pipes. I have heard good reviews about the hydor 600 too but like the option of the drain at the bottom of the fx4 for water changes but I guess nothing the python water changer can't fix. If I went for fx4 and glass lily pipes how much could I dial flow down if need be. I know I can also drop the lily pipes a bit lower down in the water and add a hydor inline heater but have heard a few issues with hydor inline heater so not sure if reliable or not.
The Oase biomaster 600 comes with built in heater but not sure if that flow is going to be enough.
I have dark grey and light grey dragon stone so just down to the gravel as well to finalise the scape as want to plant HC.
I will be using a co2art inline diffuser.
Do I go ahead with ADA amazonia, cal aqua black earth or Tropica as don't want to have to change the substrate after a year or two.
Thank you for any input.
