Are corydoras good tank companion?

Hi I need some advice with regards to finding a suitable fish. I have inherited c.70 Mollies, and I have reduced the numbers to 7 adults and 3 fries! I have split them into a female only and a whole male tank but it's not working. They are frustrated and they bully each others so I would like to bring them back together into one tank but I need a fish species to mitigate the fry population. Searching online I see that corydoras are potentially suitable
It's not a decision that I am taking lightly, as I have concerns about fish provenance and welfare. and they need to be able to be happy to live on their own (not with a group of corydoras) in a mixed tank (I also inherited 5 guppy boys) as I don't really want more fish but this one has a job.
What do people think? Do I have the right species, and do you have further advice to offer.

Corys get on with most other fish. However, they like being with their own kind, so you’re best off getting a small group of them. They are very social with each other.

Corydoras need to be with their own kind. They’ll also be useless at catching molly fry. Corydoras feed off the bottom and molly fry will hang around at the surface, I can’t imagine they would catch any.

depending on the size of the tank you also get pygmy corys for smaller tanks, also cute and friendly

Nope, corys need to live as a group and will have no impact on your molly behaviour or be any good as population control. My advice would be to pass on the mollies that you have and keep fish that you enjoy.

Getting corys for your molly problem would be like getting parrots for your barn mice. Often times a even cat can't do more than pick off mice here and there...
