Hi, new here. I am setting up a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft aquarium. I have bought two bags of eco complete substrate, know I have read the bag it sys the pH will be buffered to around 7.0ph. I have soft water at home (just waiting for my test kit or I would give reading's)

Unfortunately I require a lower pH to keep green phantom pleco ect

Is their a soil like ada I can add to the eco complete active substrates to return the pH to 6.5. I really don't want to waste it cost me arm n a leg 😭

big thanks to any one with advice cheers ninjascape

Any pH buffering will be limited until its buffering capacity is exhausted, how long it will last is another question all together and will de dependant on how often you do a WC, volume of WC and amount of substrate you started with.
