Hi, I am new here, not sure if I should post this here but I have a question about soil, I am looking at burying the tropica aquarium plant soil, but there is a chance I won’t actually be putting any plants in the tank, it is a 20 gallon cube and the fish are neon tetras and zebra danios. Also in the filter area what should I be using, should it be just sponges, or carbon aswell, or what ? Thank you

You're unlikely to find anyone on this forum who will tell you that not having plants is a good way to go. Plants help you in a lot of ways. The main thing to be aware of with using aquasoil is that it will necessitate making plenty of water changes over the first few weeks (like 50 percent daily for the first week, then alternate days the following week, then 2x in the third week) to help manage the ammonia. If you aren't having plants (bad idea) then it's probably just a waste of money and water.
Alternatives to planted plants might be to include epiphyte plants (that you don't plant into the substrate), floating plants or even just house plants roots dangling into the tank (spider plants and peace lilies are easy and cheap options). The latter two will help you a lot with managing ammonia and make for a happier tank in the long run.
Hopefully by now you've read around a bit and picked up some good tips from the forum?
